In Class Quiz Questions two: Code 765
1. If you had to live your life over and over again (as given in Nietzsche's myth of eternal recurrence), describe precisely those things that you would change and why?
If I had to live my life over and over again, I would make decisions that would alter my life for the best making every day an amazing day. I would first start off by changing my daily routine that means riding my bike, taking the bus to school every so often and getting up early in the morning to run for an hour somewhere different every day. Also, the choices I make in my life would drastically change this doesn’t mean I would go crazy and rob a bank or something, but I would be more of a dare devil so I would have some killer memories to look back on. I would also sign up for the Peace Core now instead of waiting until after I get my Bachelors and Master degree in Public Relations. I would also broaden my horizons by become friends with more colorful characters that have positive energy, so I am surrounded by positive and non-judgmental people.
2. Thinking about your life (and connecting to the movie, the limits of science), what are the biggest obstacles that you confront in your educational career? More precisely, what limitations do you have that you feel limit your understanding of varying subjects and ideas?
The obstacle that I have to confront in my educational career is my ADD or better known as Attention Deficit Disorder. With ADD time spent in a classroom setting sitting down for long periods of time can easily make it hard for me to focus. This especially occurs when the subject matter is not one that interests me like math, but I have to take it because it is required to transfer. I also find it an obstacle, when my professor does not teach me there subject in a interesting way. This can be extremely hard for me to want to follow along and retain the information. Especially, if I can not learn from the professor or if I have to teach myself the subject, which is wrong for a professor to have the student do all on their own.
3. Since the advent of hyper technology, what devices have you become most attached or addicted to? Why? Which ones are your friends most attached to? What are the pros and cons of such devices (connecting, of course, to the movie, "Surfing the User Interface".
I have become extremely attached to my cell phone mostly for the constant need of having to stay in contact with people and social media, which is my addiction. I feel that when I forget my phone at home, I can only part with it for a day, or I start to feel as though I’m missing a part of me. I am always texting my friends, boyfriend and family so constant communication is a must for my daily routine. I feel like my friends are also attached to their phones more now since it is so easy to access. My generation was born into this mega technology age where we have become more reliant on cell phones, tablets, laptops you name it my generation is probably hooked on it. I do have to say the pros of having these devices are that it is tremendously easy to stay connected to one another through communication at the touch of a button like Facebook chat, Snap Chat, and Skype. The cons would be that people are becoming less involved with one another on the face to face level of communication. Technology is a great advance in our world, but our generation needs to understand that there should be a limit of it as well as us re-connecting to the real world instead of the cyber one.
