Question 1
As a spiritual leader, Faqir Chandi, rejects any personal knowledge of the miracles and visions that his followers claim they had of him. Faqir Chandi is viewed as a humble and honest spiritual leader because openly admitted to not having any knowledge of the miracles and visions. He claims those were all “mental creations”. He states that any miracles or healings that occurred were due to the power of that individual not anyone or anything else. Faqir began, “preaching that all saints, from Buddha to Christ and even his master Shiv Brat Lal were ignorant about the miracles or inner experiences attributed to them.”(Pg. 12)
Question 2
The phrase “philosophy done well is science,” means that a philosopher breaks down a theory to is core truth much like a scientist would in trying to analyze data. Both disciplines are supposed to reach the root of a cause or answer to a problem. If you aren’t making an effort to reach true knowledge then you are merely contemplating values without a purpose. Professor Lane in the film “The Remainder Conjecture,” says that the approach he takes is that of a physicalist approach to the study of consciousness. He’s going to exhaust all physical explanations before he accepts a super mundane explanation. Again this would be a similar approach that a scientist would.
