Why is Faqir Chand's experiences important in understanding the projective nature of religious visions and miracles?
Faqir Chand’s experiences are relative to the understanding of the projecting nature of religious visions and miracles because they demonstrate that regardless of a person’s realization of miracles they encounter, a person will commonly find some type of higher being or power as the explanation, rather then viewing themselves as the reasoning. On many occasions, Faquir encounters claims that he is the reasoning for someone experiencing a miracle, yet Faqir has never met this person, or has even been to the location that the event occurred. When in actuality, the individual alone was the impact that created the “miracle”. If an individual fails to see that their own abilities are what help them through stressful situations, then that individual is ignorant to the nature of the miracles, especially when they refuse to believe that no one else assisted in the manifestation of the miracles.
What is meant by the phrase, "philosophy done well is science; philosophy done poorly remains philosophy."
Philosophy's intentions should be to understand the world around us aswell as understanding ourselves. Observing how humans behave and why they behave certain ways on a scientific level, is a means to find truth in a world full of unknowns. This also includes understanding our world, and the universe. Looking back into the window of time, and searching the timeline of our universe, and trying to understand it, allows us to find better ways live our lives in a way that positively affects those around us. If philosophy is actively questioning, observing, and improving, then it is essentially science. However, if all anyone is theorize what should be down and how someone should behave, on a whim, without any real substantial evidence or true action, then it will only ever remain philosophy.
