1.Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I believe artificial intelligence will definitely be a problem in the future. An eery feeling comes over me at the mere thought of having an emotional conversation with a robot or computer. The fact that the machines “perhaps having had to dumb themselves down a bit to appear more human like” (Lane 4) is quite frightening. I would not feel comfortable having a machine being much smarter than I. Obviously there would be nothing that I could do about their inevitable intelligence, but my worry is if I were to have a conversation with artificial intelligence and anger it. All artificial intelligence will know that I'm a “bad or evil” person and possibly retaliate against me. This possible retaliation can take form through my social media or bank account, which can really damage a person's life, especially since we are all very dependent on technology.
“When a part in our human brain is not working we can implant a computer component to remedy the situation” (Lane 8). As a psychology major, the thought of having technology as parts of our brain is unsettling. Our brain is unique and fragile, it should not be treated as any other organ. The insertion of a foreign object can have many effects. For example, the implant may not work and possibly damage the brain enough for death to occur. Although if the implant does work (depending on the part of the brain that was replaced), the person can completely change into someone new. This can be through train of thought, body functions, personality and many other ways. Overall the uncertainty of artificial intelligence functioning is worrisome to me because I believe that it can lead to major problems in our day to day life and possibly the world.

2.How has technology impacted your life?
I think it is safe to say that technology has consumed my life, along with many others in this world. Technology is now a part of our every day life. The first thing I do when I wake up is check my phone and I do that throughout the entire day. If I am not on my phone, I can be either watching TV, seeing videos on my computer or playing a video game with my friends.
Technology has overall impacted my life both negatively and positively. The negatives consist of hurting my vision, lack of sleep and isolation from others. Although through technology I have also had the ability to come together with other people. Another positive is having the ability to communicate with family and friends efficiently. Also having almost all and any question answered by simply typing it and hitting enter is very beneficial. Technology is ambiguous when it comes to its effects.
