Explain the virtual simulation theory of consciousness.
Consciousness is "the fact of awareness by the mind itself and reality." In the video "Brain Burn" it talks about how when you do something in the real world, it has a large chance of failing but if you plan it in your head and plan different scenarios you have a lesser chance of failing. "Consciousness is a virtual simulator, apparently evolved our eons of time to enable mammals with higher brain functions to "in source" varying options of how to respond to desperate arrays of problems before." Simulations are used to show real effects of actions or used when you can't act it for some reason. So when you can't, comes in the consciousness part.
How does the brain trick usajd for what benefit is it for our genetic survival?
The brain tricks us by our senses. There's much more to find out in the world then through our five sense. We are so use to thinking e way we do that our minds trick us sometimes. For example, there is a video online of some guy playing a game at work with his coworkers. They blindfold him and he has to reach in the box and guess the unknown item. He thinks it's going to be some kind of scary animal so he's screaming as he's reaching in but it's really just a teddy bear. His mind tricked him. It is beneficial for genetic survival because it'll allow us to be cautious.
