1. Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
The theory of evolution is important to how humans behave because of many different reasons. Darwin believes that people’s minds grow through evolution. Evolution imperative states that we as people should reproduce in order to pass on genes and traits that can help evolution and benefit human beings even more. The theory evolution shows that people are always questioning on why things happen, and why things are the way they are. The theory of evolution can help us because people did not behave the same thousands of years ago. It is through evolution that we are able to formulate thoughts better throughout the years and create ways to develop human beings better. From years ago people have been passing down traits and slowing developing the human brain generation by generation to the point where we are today. Human beings behave the way we do thanks to theory of evolution and Darwin.
2. Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer? Be sure to support your answers with references to the required readings and films. Each answer should be at least 150 words.
The Magic of Evolution shows a card trick “by hiding mistakes you create a miracle.” This shows that in the time period we are today, humans and animals have already gone through evolution and that “90% of the organisms” have gone through a different fate. If we really did evolve and only 10% of what is alive today has been through evolution, where did we all originally come from? This question is asked multiple times and always comes back to “the chicken or the egg, which came first.” Also, if we had evolved, is there a possibility that we evolved from the same or similar species, but because we’re in different parts of the world evolved differently? Also if humans have evolved through evolution, we still have many different diseases that kill humans all the time, but shouldn’t we have evolved away from it now.
