1.The evolution theory is crucial in comprehending the behavior of humans since the theory explicitly postulates on how mankind came into existence and how everything was created. Moreover, by the fact that the theory of evolution is scientific, it definitely supports science. In the past people held the mystical explanations in justification of the existence of human. However, in the current society, individuals agree with either scientific or religious reasoning on the origin of mankind. Based on the Imperative Evolutionary film – To Be or Not to Be, which incorporates Sisyphus myth, highlights the question of what is suicide and what draws an individual to query whether or not an individual has the capacity to live.
Evolution theory is also imperative as it explores on a continuation of our ancestors. Those that survive aren`t deemed to be strongest but rather they possess better adaptations. In the film ‘The Magic of Evolution’ Prof. Daniel Dennett points that natural selection conserves automatically anything that has worked up to date. Therefore, it is pertinent for us to comprehend that human beings exist since their ancestors survived as well as continued with reproduction. In the movie, by Charles Darwin, it is observed that in the contemporary world natural selection is still ongoing. Some human beings are eliminated naturally in the present times during natural disasters such as earthquakes or by viruses such as HIV. As can be noted from this film, individuals with strong genetic makeup can survive for long with the virus and even pass their immunity to their children.
2. I believe that evolution theory does not answer many questions related to religion, ethics and morality and how they will evolve in the future. Many societies hold a belief that God is held accountable to all happenings in one`s life. This can be evidenced in the film Genetic Connection whereby Salome Simon links her immunity to HIV as stemming from God`s goodness to her. By the fact that religious questions typically provides solutions related to faith, there exist less factual evidence as compared to science. Consequently, questions such as how long man was on earth before another man came? How did the world form? How did gravity happen? Even though the theory of evolution provides significant answers to these questions, there still remain some questions to which I believe cannot be tested with facts. This is because they are more linked to the religion of an individual and what he or she believes. In addition, the theory of evolution cannot offer answers to people` belief. Individuals possess emotions with their life and like to associate with people who will get involved with others and they are concerned whether in the future this will exist.
