1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I believe artificial intelligence will be a huge problem in the future. Just throughout my life so far seeing how far technology has advanced and the things that people can do with these technological advances amazes me. With what people are continuing to make in the technology field I believe things like artificial intelligence can be a problem for more reasons than one. Some possible reasons for which I believe artificial intelligence can be a problem are 1) these creations of technology with artificial intelligence can take jobs away from many people, 2) like the video "Ray Kurzweil" he discusses the good and bad with the coming intelligence. Ray Kurzwell states that he believes by the year 2020 "computers [will be] powerful enough to simulate the human brain". He also says, "in 25 years these technologies will be a billion times more powerful." Technology is taking over I remember years ago while I was growing up social media, FaceTime, and all of those communication areas of technology weren't around we literally had to call people on the phone in order to talk to them. Growing up we literally had to talk to people in person to socialize and weren't able to be glued to technology like people are now. It's crazy working at an elementary school seeing children as young as the second grade having all of this technology at the tip of their fingers. Although there are cons to technology advancing each year I believe with children and the younger generations being brought up with it that there will be larger and more in depth safety measures in creating these devices with artificial intelligence hoping to keep it out of the wrong hands. If the wrong people obtain the key to using technology and robots, then we can face deadly situations.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
I believe technology has greatly impacted my life in both good and bad ways. In the film "Ray Kurzweil" he states that the world has already created super machines which can story a lot of human knowledge and these machines can share this information instantly. I believe Ray Kurzwell is talking about how advanced the internet is, iPhones, and other cellular and computer devices. These technology items help speed up my life and get things done a lot faster. Although it helps speed up my life I feel for some they take advantage of these advances in technology and aren't using their own thought process to figure things out. The internet and computer advances is able to give me an immense amount of information within seconds about any topic you could ever imagine. iPhones and other cellular devices greatly impact my life because I am able to communicate with people from the tip of my finger who are across the world in other states and other countries it also allows me to stay connected through social media constantly 24/7. Although these technological advances help me stay virtually connected to people it in contrast isn't really staying connected because normal bonds that are created in physical relations as in seeing people in person and hanging out in person are now limited if any occur at all. Technology has also separated me from the outside world at times because I sometimes will just stay at home are surf the web or social media instead of hanging out with people or exercising out doors.
