1- Upon considerable rumination, I find within myself nary a response to such a supposition. Although, logically, the consequences of such a reality may possibly be significant, I simply cannot evoke a response from the deepest depths of my thought. Perhaps it is the significant workload—a present from my dearest friend Procrastination—that clouds my thought. More to the point, though, perhaps it is the unlikelihood—indeed, the inconceivability to my primitive and limited cerebral cortex—of such a possibility. How would one feel upon being queried of one’s feelings in regards to a duck-shaped elephant? I suspect that it would be inconsequential to most, and few would lose sleep over such an inconceivable possibility. Assuming that a multiverse exists, and that I am made of material and atoms, I do not find myself to really be worried about it. It would seem that whatever consequences such a supposition would bring with it would be hard to imagine, so there really isn’t much to worry about. My current convictions would be challenged, nonetheless, and I would find likely myself to be without a clear idea as to my life and its direction.
2- If I were to assume that chance was behind all this, it would be awe-inspiring. Out of such great odds, life comes to being, and with it, I do too. What are the chances of that?! It is amazing and it demonstrates the value of life. From the smallest particle, if anything was amiss or different, I wouldn’t exist. I suspect—if I were to hold such a notion—that it would give me more appreciation for the chance I did get, and it would likely serve as a motivator to excel.
3- The more I learn about anything, the more I appreciate life and its marvels. From the newest methods of friction welding, to advancements in medical technology, to the newest discoveries in space, I find myself constantly amazed at the complexity and beauty of things around us. An instance of my amazement at and appreciation for something upon learning about its science is the human body. It is so ubiquitous and so accessible, being the material I am currently situated in. Take the human skeletal structure, for example; examine the hand you are currently using to scroll through this page. Within your hand, fingers, and wrist, in a space equal in size to the average smartphone, exist 54 joints and bones. They function for decades without needing any service or maintenance, constantly move for the entire duration they’re attached to a beating heart, are capable of making the finest and most precise movements in medical surgery, and delivering some of the most jarring and damaging blows in Krav Maga; yet, they function perfectly, without a complaint. One would think so many joints in such a small area would make for a weak structure, but it is quite the opposite. It is marvelous, really, and it gives one a new appreciation for this handy hand most of us have.
