Understanding physics and the general rules of the universe are so important in philosophy because it is extremely similar. The questions we ask all rely on some sort of evidence and are constantly asking questions about what is true. Like physics we can also find shortcuts. For example, photosynthesis occurs because of scientists discovered electrons can be in multiple places at once, this opens possibilities for fields such as philosophy to try things with a different perspective. This is extremely important as well because for example, in Bohr versus Einstein, the idea of quantum theory is discussed multiple times however the debate is still being had today. This relates to philosophy in that everything can be discussed and talked about. This relates closely to Aristotle and Plato in that one idea can be shared and extremely similar, but two people may see things different and is then discussed and shared.
Eliminative materialism is a way for philosophers to test multiple different hypothesis’ and eliminate those that do not work. If nothing else can explain it then as the video states “God did it.” Three examples are bacteria, nervous systems, and electromagnetic currents instead of learning about Thor and ghosts. Eliminative materialism is a great way to test many different methods finding a solution to different answers as to why things are the way things are. “This eliminates inexplicable phenomenon.” We have allowed eliminated materialism however to change everything but ourselves. We stop asking why we do the things we do. Using love, freewill to discover ourselves. The process of eliminative of materialism helps makes deciding factors on things that cannot be fully explained through “physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, and sociology.” This is a great way to show how if we cannot find the answers through science, then common sense says this happens for a reason, maybe because of God
