1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
According to Big Think (2009), because information technologies are making an exponential growth, in the coming 25 years, these technologies will be a billion times faster than today. By 2029, the computer technology will be capable of completing the reverse engineering at human brains and will simulate all human brain functions including the emotional intelligence. Computers will be much knowledgeable than human beings and will share knowledge electronically a million times faster than through the human languages. The development of the artificial intelligence is an evolution in the human technology from within the human culture. By 2045, a singularity of human machine civilization is likely to occur because computers will continue to improve exponentially and will be able to improve their own software design by themselves. However, there could have some possible abuse of biotechnology, such as by a bio-terrorist “to reprogram a biological virus to be deadly or communicable.” (True Monism, 2009) Another thing to worry is about the machine morality when robots are with increasing autonomy. How much autonomy is appropriate when the possibility of intentional attacking and killing is likely? (Keiper & Schulman, 2011) This is with an assumption that human beings are in control of robots’ autonomy. What would happen if robots are evolved with advanced artificial intelligence? Therefore, the answer to the question is yes. The possibility of being abused by bio-terrorists or being with undesired machine morality, the development of artificial intelligence will be a significant problem to human beings in the future.

2. How has technology impacted your life?
We live in a technology-dependent world. A light bulb shines in the evening. A TV links our life with the world. A refrigerator stores food for days. Gas stoves cook delicious foods for eating. Telephones transmit voice in person thousands miles afar. A computer stores information and makes sophistic calculations. The internet transfers messages instantly and allows us to reach out from home. Medicines and advanced medical treatments save us from illness. Cars, airplanes, ships, etc. provide various convenient ways for traveling. Soon, we will have robots doing all kinds works for us. The advancement in technologies has improved our life quality and extends our life span. Certainly, there are things negative with technology. Terrorist attacks and wars happen much more easily than before because terrorists are also familiarized with all kinds of new technologies, such as 911. Meanwhile, there is an increasing alarm of people indulging in the so called social media addiction and there is a growing concern of a psychiatric disorder called the internet addition disorder (Benjamin, 2015). In general, technologies have appositive impacts on our life but they may also create negative impacts if being abused.
