Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
According to the theory of evolution by Charles Darwin natural selection organisms that contain heritable traits to better adapt to the environment when compared with other members of their species are more likely to survive (Spencer Essentials of Anthropology 2016). For example certain species of animals such as the geese and eagles to name a few mate for life results taken from a field observation done multiple times with different pairs. While they are other fowls that do not mate for life they are monogamous, some cheat some after cheating do not return to the first sexual partner. Although some species of fowls cheat they do at a less rate of that of humans. By under standing such behavior in animals species it can help us to greater understand human behavior as well. For example why is that some people choose a partner to mate for life. And why do other people choose to be cheaters in a marriage. In understanding evolution we can understand how humans have adapted to making the choice to choose one mate for life. Evolution gets our gears rolling into learning more of ourselves as we further gain more knowledge of all species of animals, plants and our environment. Another example taken from the book (The DNA of Consciousness 2014) our DNA is riding on a boat whose journey began long ago with our primitive ancestors but to get to how what we look today has undergone many mutations that is why we look the way we do be ourselves female or male. Our DNA strand has evolved from our ancestral origins. Like the film Evolution in 4 minutes puts it "Be mated or be dated".
Which questions do you think evolutionary theory can not answer?
I believe evolutionary theory can not answer the exact age of the plant, with regards to the evolution of matter and in-turn existence to what is already an evolution from that one time between non existent and existent with exactitude but rather on theory. I also believe that evolution will not be able to answer who our real ancestors are but rather theorize on physical evidence that has missing links from theory to theory of human understanding and our true origin and how we are directly related today to the two people from which we have come from.
