1) Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
The theory of evolution is essential to our understanding of the actions and behavior of human beings. Throughout evolution our genetic coding is encrypted in our DNA’s. Each human being is different and possessing its own unique structure that creates evolution. In the “Genetic Connection”, Carl Zimmer states “a human and a grain of rice might not at first glance look like cousins and yet we share a quarter of our genes with that fine plant”, this statement exemplifies the importance of our genes and how they play a part in evolution. Whether it can be seen or not, we like many other organisms on this planet have evolved and share similar genes. Of courses throughout the years and with evolution some genes have been lost and new ones have come about. The theory of evolution goes off into several different tangents questioning different elements, and learning new things and eliminating what is unnecessary, to learning what is vital in the sense of evolution.
2) Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer?
I honestly believe there are several things in this life that the evolutionary theory cannot answer. Nobody knows for certain how long the earth has been in existence, as said in “The DNA of Consciousness” some believe that “God created the world in six days. Some accept an old earth hypothesis (five billion years old); whereas others believe that the world is only several thousand years old. (Diem-Lane 1)” This statement exhibits a widely known controversy, how long has the world been in existence and how did it come into existence. We can start from the known fact of how someone is brought into this world, first off they are composed and created through the binding of an egg and sperm cell, and so and so forth. We can trace back for years, but where do people come from is the real question, did we evolve from animals, from plants, from merely other atoms and molecules that other organisms are composed of. Is there really a God? And if there is, why did he choose to create the world the way that he did? These are all questions plummeting the minds of millions, of those who try to understand the theory of evolution.
