Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
If philosophy is the fundamental study nature of knowledge, reality and existence. Then understanding the discovered basics of both physics and general rules of the universe is part of knowing the result of existence.
For example it is useful to have an understanding of how and way the world works. Physics attempts to explain this through the study of matter and its motion through space and time.
Second, the general rules of the universe (TOE) is the master framework of physics which attempts to explain linking together physical aspects of the universe as a whole.
Third, philosophy digs for answer that are already in existence. philosophy questions knowledge, values, reason, and mind. Similar to an archaeologist who searches for evidence.
It is important to have a basic understanding of physics and general rules of the universe so philosophy may question, assert and confirm what has been discovered by the both knowledge physics and general rules of the universe.
Einstein's passion in science was fueled by his even grater passion for discovering the truth apart from human artifice (Quantum Weirdness 2014). philosophy must discover the truth shunning human artifice.
All three knowledge's must be coherent to the facts discovered.
What is eliminative materialism? three examples
Eliminitive materilaism is reason writ large. It can be allowed to change our thinking (The DNA of Consciousness 2014). Eliminative materialism which can also be called as eliminativism is the materialist position in the philosophy of the mind for example folk psychology. As Neurosurfer posted video Eliminative materialism part 1 on You-tube shows if mathematics can not explain it, then psychics can explain it if it can not explain it then, chemistry if it can not explain it if it then, sociology can explain it and if it can not then vaguely put then god did it.
One example is when it rains, if someone want to get wet, that person will place on a poncho or open up yellow umbrella in order not to get wet. The action taken by the person is a mental reason not to get wet.
A second example is, when it rains, like in today West Coast environment. it has been a dry winter in Southern CA. despite this fact people are preparing for El Nino rain falls in late March. despite the fact that we are almost in spring people in certain places are still placing sand bags in there drive ways because they beliefs that strong rains from El Nino are still on the way.
A third example, if you see the San Gabriel Mountains you see some snow at the peaks based on the assumption some would figure it is cold, when it is actually up to 80 degrees at noon.
